mazys first aid
CPR

To do CPR, you do DR ABC

first you check for

Danger- you need to check for danger so then you dont get caught up in what the casualty has done.

Response- to check to see if they are conscious because they could be asleep or listening to music maybe even deaf.

Airways- to check if there isnt anything blocking airways which wil make them stop breathing.

breathing- to check if they are alive and if they aren’t you do CPR if they are alive you see where they have hurt themselves

circulation- to check if they have a pulse.

At the start you should always ring an ambulance, but always check the casualty so you can give the information to the paramedics so they know what they are dealing with when they arrive.

Dont go up to the casulty without checking for danger as you might get caught up in what the casualty has and be weary. The reason why you check for response is so that you know if they are alive or dead so then you could tell if they need CPR. After you do airways, so then you can help them because it can help them breathe better. You need to check for circulation to check the pulse how fast it may be going.

When your doing CPR on a castualty what you do is,

first you do 30 compressions, then you tilt the head back pinch the nose and breathe into there mouth twice, then you do more 30 compressions then you tilt the head back and pinch the nose to breath in the mouth.

In this video it is showing how to bandage a bleeding aarm.

we had to communciate together figuring out what bi to say and do team work. How we done the video is we suggested ideas and put every1’s idea in.

We knew to check for danger, the reason why is because what ever happened to them may fall on you so you have to be careful.

You need to know how to bandage bleeding arm so that you dont get stuck when you come across some1 with a bleeding arm, you need to make sure you re not hurting them and make sure that the bandage is tight and not loose otherwise it wil not stop the bleeding coming through.

After you need to make sure the sling is up right and that it is above the heart so that you know there isnt going to be anymore blood rushing down so they dont loose more.

Then finaly you go to th hospital and just get the beeding arm checked out so that is ok.

I was doing a scenario with Emma, Saffi and Sarah.

I went to sarah first, to see if she knew what went on and help me, i asked if she could o to Emma first and il go to saffi.

Emma had a asthma attack, so sarah had to make she  was alright and see if she had a pump, if the pump doesn’t work within 3 mins ask them to do the pump again, to breath slowly and deeply.

I went to Saffi and concentrating her because she was having a fit, i had to calm her down after a while she calmed down, then checked for her breathing afterwards i put her in a recovery position.

the one thing that i didn’t do was call for an ambulance, i didn’t because i was too concentrating on Saffi and keeping her calm.

i was doing a map of a nursery and where all the sercurity areas are.
light blue-first aid box for accident
yellow-hazards to pont out where the children need to be carefull.
thick blue- locks so that the children dont go in and hurt themelves with touching things at high levels and stuff falling on them such as paint pots or shelves.
dark purple-non slip surfaces so that the children do not slip and fall on, and hurt themselves.
orange- should have curvy tables rather than
light purple- fire extinguisher so if a fire is occurs then you can blow it out through the fire extingusher
green circles- are fire alarms, you need fire alarms for when a fire occurs or maybe it will go off for when they want to check to see if it is still work.
red- socket covers, this to to prevent the children not putting there fingers in or even another object such as paint brushes etc.

At a scene of an accident

In a accident there is dead, unconcious, factured something, shocked, ok and bleeding person

the order i will see these people in are:

  1. bleeding-might die after alot of blood lost
  2. unconcious-check to see if you can help them
  3. dead-to make sure they are actually dead.
  4. factured-see how bad the fracture is
  5. socked-calm the person down
  6. ok person-get them to help me or call 999 for the ambulance to come.

Doing a scenario

In my health and social care lesson, i did a senario about a lady who came out of a nursery and fell and there was glass on the floor.

I had to find out information from the casualty for example, there name, where do they live and to find information for the ambulance to come.

The things i did well were, spoke to her about what i was doing, see if i was hurting her and if i was where? making sure she felt alright, i did the bandage straight away to stop the bleeding.

The things i could improve on asking more questions as i did not do that and maybe if the ambulance ask me a question about health or any medication, i wouldn’t know because i never asked any question like that.

Evaluating my sceniro

In my lesson i did a scenio where saffi and natalie had to figure out about what was wrong the three nursery childen mazy, amy and emma. we all played a part where mazy fainted, amy was laughing because she thught it was funny and emma was scared, saffi and natalie had to put mazy in a recovery position whilst caring with the two other, emma and amy.

Saffi and natalie did well but when they were trying to put me into the recovery position from the chair they needed to surport mazy a bit more to make sure that they are surportive.

what they did well is that the came over to us and asking if we are ok, they figued out that there was something wrong with me, they wee making sue that emma and amy where ok and nothing was wrong, the check my airways to see if it was blocked and also to see i was still breathing. saffi and natalie then put me into the recovery position and were talking to me so that i know what they were doing and not just moving me aound.

i think there performance was very good and sweet, but just need to take the other two away to calm them own and forget about what had happened to mazy
